[RAF Elsham Wolds] [Other Local Airfields]

Other Local Airfields and Stations

Apart from RAF Elsham Wolds, RAF Kirmington and RAF North Killingholme there are many other airfields in the locality which are certainly worth a mention and now have a separate page

There are also a number of airfields on the fringes of North Lincolnshire to the north of Lincoln which have particular interest and are worth a mention. Also several on or around the north bank of the Humber which are not too far away

As time goes on I shall build these pages up and develop this theme. Present day photos of these sites were a problem due to covid but from now on I hope to get out a bit more health permitting.

For now the airfields are :-

I am indebted to the book Action Stations - Wartime Military Airfields in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands for the background info to these items. This book was published in 1991 and is an excellent source as are all the volumes in the Action Stations series
