South Cave

South Cave Landing Ground shown in blue

Taking its name from South Cave railway station one mile south this 2nd class Night Landing Ground was located on the western side of the A1034 road from South Cave to Market Weighton and north of the junction of the B1230 to Beverley and the unclassified road to Hotham. The landing ground totalling 64 acres had an operating area of 480 yds x 660 yds and was opened in April 1916 for 33 HD Squadron and later for 76 HD  Squadron. The landing ground remained in use till June 1919. There is no evidence today from that period.
