10 Oct 1942 – 150 Squadron, RAF Newton – Vickers Wellington III – BK311 – Sgt W H Allworth RAFVR – Training.
Location – On or in the immediate vicinity of the RAF Elsham Wolds airfield.
Those who know Elsham Wolds will appreciate that it can at times be rather windy and blustery up there. These conditions seem to have been the cause of this particular tragic incident. The pilot lost control on approach to the airfield due to extremely windy conditions and crashed at 1521. The aircraft caught fire and was burnt out.
Sgt W.H.Allworth injured but subsequently died from his injuries, Sgt R. Ziser RAAF - Killed. W/O E.H. Herbert - Killed, Sgt N.D. Green - Killed, Sgt N.C. Meyers RCAF - Killed, Sgt Thomas Victor Brown RAAF - Unhurt and seems to have survived the war.

Sgt Reginald Ziser RAAF ( pictured above ) - Observer - 22 – 150 Sqn - Son of Charles Albert and Gladys Josephine Ziser, of Birkdale, Queensland, Australia - Brigg Cemetery, North Lincolnshire
W/O Edwin Henry Herbert MID RAF – Pilot - 25 – 150 Sqn - Son of Alexander Caffrey Herbert and Caroline Lucy Herbert, of Leicester, husband of Margery Herbert, of Leicester. - Leicester Saffron Hill Cemetery, Leicestershire.
Sgt Norman Desmond Green RAFVR – Air Bomber - 21 – 150 Sqn - Son of Mary Green of Darlington - Darlington West Cemetery, Durham.
Sgt Norman Clifford Meyers RCAF ( pictured above ) - Wireless Operator / Air Gunner – 19 - 150 Sqn - Son of Roy and Stella Meyers, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Brigg Cemetery, North Lincolnshire
