Tony Frish
Post War Tony Frish enjoyed a long career with BOAC laterly flying VC10s. He retired in the 70s and settled in Australia.
Mudpool Maggie
Tony Frish regular aircraft was PB465 and he named it Mudpool Maggie II which was adorned with the wonderful nose art shown below. A splendid creation.
Mudpool Maggie was Tony's dear wife Margaret whom he affectionately referred to as Piggie or Mudpool Maggie.
Margaret was a very good artist and painted the original artwork herself. At the request of her son she recreated the original painting from memory several year ago.
I seem to recall Margaret was a WAAF or WREN and may have had something to do with the famous code breaking centre at Bletchley Park at some point.
Compiled by David Fell with photos from the Frish family many years ago.
