03-Aug-40 – Training – Battle – L5433 - Sgt GC Brams – Crashed on approach to Cottesmore.

09-Sep-40 – Calais – Battle – L5010 - Sub/L RA De Sandoval-Sievier RN – FTR - Flak victim. Pas de Calais area.

1941

10-Feb-41 – Hanover – Wellington – T2610 – Sgt WR Crich - Ditched on Return - Port engine failed. Ditched off east coast. Crew rescued

25-Feb-41 – Dusseldorf – Wellington – T2621 – P/O JEC Ralston – FTR - Crashed in Germany. Believed to have exploded in mid air.

30-Mar-41 – Brest – Wellington – W5612 - S/L Mellor - Crash landed on return - Orbiting base. Attacked by intruder. Force landed 1 mile from airfield.

30-Mar-41 – Brest – Wellington – R1043 – W/C CE Littler - Crashed on return - Engines cut out. Aircraft struck tree during forced landing and burst into flames at Mudford, Yeovil.

15-May-41 – Hanover – Wellington – R1494 - P/O RG Eccles RNZAF – FTR - Crashed E of Veendam, Netherlands.

02-Aug-41 – Hamburg – Wellington – X3204 - Sgt  RK Kitney - Ditched on return - Short of fuel on return. Ditched in North Sea 40 miles from Humber. Rescued up by naval launch

05-Aug-41 – Frankfurt – Wellington – W5656 – Sgt DM Greey – FTR - Crashed SW of Calais, France.

29-Aug-41 – Mannheim – Wellington – R1213 – P/O WR Oldfield – FTR - Struck by lightening. Crashed near Vlissingen, Netherlands

10-Sep-41 – Turin – Wellington – R1396 – P/O DL Petrie – FTR - Lost without trace.

20-Sep-41 – Frankfurt – Wellington – R1539 – Sgt AH Rex - Crashed on return. Crashed near Holbeach, UK whilst trying to make emergency landing.

20-Sep-41 – Frankfurt – Wellington – L7886 – P/O KH Wallis - Abandoned on return. Recall not received. Fog. Short of fuel attempted to land at Binbrook. Aircraft abandoned.

20-Sep-41 – Berlin – Wellington – R9609 – F/O T Wardhaugh – FTR - Night fighter victim. Crashed in the Ambt-Delden WSW of Hengelo, Netherlands.

22-Oct-41 – Mannheim – Wellington – R1459 – P/O KH Wallis - Crash landed on return. Engine trouble on return due to icing. Hit balloon cable at Immingham and crash landed near base.

24-Oct-41 – Frankfurt – Wellington – T2506 – P/O RG Keefer RCAF – FTR - Lost on return. Landed in Eire. Crew interned.

07-Nov-41 – Mannheim – Wellington – X9794 – P/O EV Lawson – FTR - Lost in bad weather. Crashed near Choloy France.

1942

10-Jan-42 – Wilhelmshaven – Wellington – Z1142 – Sgt CL Bray RCAF - Hit by flak on second run. Aircraft caught fire. 4 crew baled out and became POW. Fire extinguished. Landed at Grimsby. Charles Bray and his co-pilot Sgt Spooner were both awarded the DFM for this prodigious feat of initiative and airmanship. Aircraft later repaired and transferred to 21 OTU where it was destroyed in a crash in April 1943

12-Feb-42 - Operation Fuller – Wellington – Z8714 – S/L IKP Cross – FTR - Probable flak victim. Ditched in North Sea. 2 Missing, 3 POW, 1 POW died in captivity .

25-Mar-42 – Essen – Wellington – R1393 – Sgt GO John - Ditched on return - Hit by flak. Hydraulics U/S. Petrol tanks holed. Ditched in sea on return 5 miles off Orfordness. Rescued.

28-Mar-42 – Lubeck – Wellington – R1061 – P/O JE Ward – FTR - Night fighter victim. Crashed in sea.

12-Apr-42 – Essen – Wellington – W5664 – F/L R Gillespie – FTR - Crashed into North Sea.
